[Spring 2020] Scholarships for Undergraduate Degree-seeking Int'l Students

2) 장학금 종류:
가. 성적우수장학금 (별도의 신청절차 없이 성적이 우수할 시 자동 지원됨)
나. 성적향상장학금
다. 면학장학금
3) 신청방법: KUPID(http://portal.korea.ac.kr) → 로그인 → 등록/장학 → 장학금 신청
4) 공통신청자격:
- 외국인전형으로 입학한 외국인 학부생
- 2019학년도 2학기에 재학한 외국인 학부생 (2020학년도 1학기 휴학 예정자 및 2020년 2월 졸업예정자 제외)
- 2019학년도 2학기 취득학점 12학점 이상
- 세부사항은 본교 장학금 지급규정을 따름

* 선발된 학생에게는 2월 둘째주 개별 이메일 안내할 예정입니다.
* 장학금은 2020학년도 1학기 등록금 고지서에 수업료 사전 감면 금액으로 반영될 예정입니다.
(본인 계좌에 장학금 입금되지 않음)
* 서류 제출은 신청기간 내에만 제출하실 수 있으며, 마감 후에는 어떠한 경우에도 접수 받지 않으니 유의하시기 바랍니다.

(No application required. If you’ve achieved an outstanding GPA, you will automatically be nominated)

4) Basic Eligibility:
- International students who got into KU with international students qualifications administered by the International Admissions Team(International Education Team as of Dec 2019).
- Undergraduate international students who have attended the Fall semester of 2019, and will enroll for the Spring semester of 2020.
(Those who plan to take the upcoming semester off or graduate in Feb 2020, please do not apply)
- Those who have achieved a minimum of 12 credits or more in Fall 2019.

* Scholarship recipients will be notified by mid-Feb via email.
* Scholarship benefits would be directly applied on your tuition invoice as deductions. (It won’t be deposited into your bank account)
* Global Services Center does not accept any late applications caused by technical errors occurred on a personal computer and any additional documents after the closing date.
* Scholarhips will be awarded as per the Korea University Bulletin ? Constitution & Academic Regulations of Korea University.
※ 장학금별 세부 안내
가. 성적우수장학금
- 대상: 2019학년도 2학기 성적이 우수한 외국인 학부 재학생
- 장학금액: 다음 학기 (2020-1학기) 수업료 전액(100%)
- 신청방법: 별도 신청 필요 없음
* 제출 서류 없음
나. 성적향상장학금
- 대상: 2019학년도 2학기 성적이 직전 학기에 비해 월등히 향상된 외국인 학부 재학생
▷ 두 학기 모두 12학점 이상 취득자 중,
2019학년도 2학기 평점평균(교내용) 3.0 (F포함 성적) 이상인 자만 지원 가능
▷ 2019학년도 1학기 휴학생은 휴학 직전학기 성적 적용
- 장학금액: 다음 학기 (2020-1학기) 수업료의 반액(50%)
- 신청방법: KUPID(http://portal.korea.ac.kr) → 로그인 → 등록/장학 → 장학금 신청
* 제출 서류 없음
다. 면학장학금
- 대상: 경제적인 도움이 필요한 외국인 학부 재학생
▷ 2019학년도 2학기 12학점 이상 취득자이며, 평점평균(교내용) 2.0 (F포함 성적) 이상인 자만 지원 가능
- 장학금액: 다음 학기 (2020-1학기) 수업료의 50% (반액)
- 신청방법: KUPID(http://portal.korea.ac.kr) → 로그인 → 등록/장학 → 장학금 신청
- 제출 서류: (필수 서류 ①, ② 모두 제출해야 신청 완료)
① (*필수) 장학금 신청사유서 1부 - 포털(KUPID) 온라인 지원 시, 첨부파일로 제출
: 본인의 상황에 대해 최대한 상세하고 자세하게 작성 필수 (A4용지 2장 이상 분량)
: (양식 첨부파일 참조) (파일명 -> 학생학번 신청사유서.doc)
② (*필수) 교수 추천서 1부 - 자유양식, 이메일 또는 방문 제출
: 교수님의 소속, 성명, 날짜, 서명과 함께 가정 형편과 재정 상황에 대한 구체적인 언급이 있을 경우에만 인정
: 2019학년도 2학기에 작성된 추천서만 인정 (겨울방학 기간 포함)
: 파일명 -> 학생학번 교수 추천서.pdf 또는 images
③ (선택) 각종 재정 상황 증명 서류 - 이메일 또는 방문 제출
: 모든 재정 상황 증빙 서류는 가족관계증명서와 함께 제출 필수
: 모든 서류는 한글 또는 영문본만 인정
: 파일명 -> 학생학번 서류명.pdf 또는 images
* 이메일 제출처 : 학번, 이름과 함께 gsc@korea.ac.kr 로 제출
* 방문 제출처 : 학번, 이름과 함께 글로벌서비스센터에 제출 (동원글로벌리더십홀 201호, 오전 9시-오후 5시 30분, 점심시간 12시-1시)
* 본인이 처한 상황을 명확히 증명할 수 있는 선택 서류 제출 시, 학생의 상황을 파악하는데 큰 도움이 되며 선발 기회도 높아집니다.

※ Detailed Information
A) Academic Excellence Scholarship
- Eligibility: Undergraduate int’l students who achieved an outstanding GPA in the Fall semester of 2019.
- Benefit: 100% of tuition for Spring 2020
- How to apply: No Application required
* No additional documents required
B) Academic Improvement Scholarship
- Eligibility: Undergraduate int’l students who achieved a better GPA in the Fall semester of 2019 compared to the one in the Spring semester of 2019
▷ must have obtained a minimum of 12 credits in both semesters AND achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the Fall semester of 2019.
▷ those who took the Spring semester of 2019 off, can apply with the previous semester’s GPA
- Benefit: 50% of tuition for Spring 2020

* No additional documents required
C) Need Based Scholarship
- Eligibility: Undergraduate int’l students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Those who need financial support to pay tuition.
- Benefit: 50% of tuition for Spring 2020
- How to Apply: KUPID (http//portal.korea.ac.kr) → Log In → Tuition/Scholarship → Scholarship Application → Apply
- Additional documents:
① (*Required) Explanatory Statement ? upload as an attachment to your online application on the KUPID(portal)
: Write about your current financial situation in detail
: (Please find the attachment) Write more than two A4-size pages in length and save the file as 'student ID number Explanatory Statement.doc’ (word file)
② (*Required) Recommendation letter from professor
: The professor's department, name, signature and the date on which the letter was signed must be included.
: The letter must address the financial hardships you’ve been going through in detail.
: Only those letters that are written and signed in Fall 2019 including winter vacation and fulfill the above requirements will be considered.
: Please save the file as (student ID number Recommendation letter.pdf or images)
③ (Optional) Additional documents that reflect your current financial situation
: All documents must be submitted along with a copy of your ‘family relation certificate’ or any other official document that can replace the family relation certificate.
